1. First Taste of KFC#
Today, while playing with my child, I ordered two servings of KFC's New Orleans wings. Watching my child eat happily, I couldn't help but reminisce about my journey so far.
Before graduating from college, I had only eaten KFC once.
That was during high school when my cousin married a woman from the county. Her family was engaged in real estate and was much better off than us. She took us out to eat.
My cousin ordered a family bucket, and that moment felt as precious as the New Year. Although my cousin and his ex-wife have since separated, I will always be grateful to her for introducing me to KFC and showing me that such delicious food exists in the world.
My younger brother was also there at the time, and he remarked that it didn't taste good. My cousin replied, "Why didn't you say so earlier? We didn't even get full." We secretly finished the Wallace burgers in his room; they were delicious, and I felt so happy while burping.
But this made it clear that my ex-boyfriend and I were not on the same path. He believed that a large sum of money shouldn't be spent on such things, while my taste buds understood better what kind of life I needed.
Trying KFC Again#
After starting work at a clothing store, the manager, who was from Anhui, loved to eat noodles, but I felt that noodles didn't fill me up and even made me a bit nauseous. Once, while eating shredded pork noodles with pickled vegetables, I found a fly in my dish. When I told the chubby aunt, she said, "It's fine; flies have protein." I could only pay in frustration. 😭
When I didn't bring lunch, I would order a work meal. At that time, KFC's work meal cost about 18 to 20 yuan and always came with a Coke. I couldn't bear to order my favorite New Orleans wings separately; I would only splurge on them when they were part of a combo.
At that time, my salary was 3,500 yuan. After working for six months, I saved up to buy a washing machine and color TV for my family, earning praise from the elders in the village. Everyone thought I was doing well outside.
But I was struggling. I hated taking the bus and would get car sick. Commuting every day for morning and evening shifts made me feel depressed in the afternoons when I took the bus to work.
2. Entering the Crypto World and Saying Goodbye to KFC#
At the end of 2015, I met my first boss through a Didi ride to his BMW. At that time, Didi had just entered the Nanjing market, and a ride only cost a little over 2 yuan, while the bus also cost 2 yuan, and transferring buses cost 4 yuan, so of course, I chose Didi.
Later, my boss thought I was eager to share. I had taken an Amway course and then caught a ride in his car home. He believed that my acceptance of the Amway course indicated a strong openness to new things, and he was sure I could accept the crypto world or financial schemes.
At that time, my boss was using crypto for financial schemes. I had just graduated and didn't understand these things, but I would attentively entertain his clients during meetings.
Once, for a business exchange, my boss introduced Bitcoin and Ethereum for the first time, and my eyes lit up. Ethereum had dropped from over 20 yuan to 3 yuan, and the market was in despair, but then it surged to over 800 yuan (I might have misremembered the details). It was my first encounter with the Yunbi exchange, and when I got home, I researched how to deposit and withdraw money.
Unfortunately, from the second half of 2016 to 2017, I missed out on nearly 20 million in wealth. At that time, Yunbi had coins like SC that increased a thousandfold, and I was almost among the top 100 holders on the entire network, but I exited during a dip.
The crypto world ignited my greed, and from then on, I looked down on working life. I participated in a semi-pyramid scheme course, spending about 80,000 yuan. How could someone with a monthly salary of 3,500 yuan afford that? I relied on loans, credit cards, and online loans, and soon fell into a debt hell.
I borrowed 30,000 yuan and paid back over 50,000 yuan to Yirendai in less than a year; the memory is still fresh.
Later, the company that promised life-changing results from the course went bankrupt, but many people, like me, were drained: bosses went bankrupt, couples divorced, and young people were heavily in debt.
During the course, I also met a scumbag. In 2017, I was scammed into buying fake foreign exchange, and my friends and I lost over 100,000 yuan.
At this point, I was no longer qualified to eat KFC.
After my university internship ended, I returned to school for graduation. Passing by the KFC entrance, I swallowed hard and told my elders in a small group, "I really want to indulge in a KFC meal."
An older sister offered me 50 yuan to enjoy myself, but I didn't accept it.
3. Days Without the Right to KFC#
Borrowing 80,000 to Go All In on #EOS#
In a state of heavy debt and despair, the crypto bull market arrived in 2017. After experiencing the 94 incident, many coins surged hundreds or thousands of times. My EOS on the exchange increased tenfold, earning me several tens of thousands, which opened my eyes.
Borrowing Money Reveals Human Nature#
At that time, everyone praised me for my potential and willingness to contribute, but when I went to borrow money, a gentle older sister suddenly turned fierce. She said, "I'm at KTV and can't hear you; I have no money to lend, go find someone else." She had once felt sorry for me and would have gladly given me 5,000 yuan. This change left me cold; sigh, no more to say.
Deciding to Borrow 80,000 Online#
I found a young man online who actively helped me with loans; he could cut the interest.
Fortunately, a big brother from the Chinese ICP region who was also an ambassador, whom I called senior brother, came to meet me in Nanjing and directly gave me 50,000 yuan so I wouldn't have to borrow. He was from Shandong, and I am still grateful to him. But later, I remained poor, as the Ethereum private placement ICP I participated in with him had not issued coins. After a few years of a bear market, my senior brother also ran out of money and came to me for debt repayment. At that time, I had just become pregnant and was overwhelmed with debt, feeling truly sorry for him.
Until ICP issued coins, deducting the private placement portion offset 50,000 yuan of debt. But my senior brother was deeply hurt by me, and we lost contact from then on.
So my first pot of gold came from ICP, but the debt was not cleared.
During this time in 2018, I attended a conference hosted by Wang Tuan Zhang at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, where the famous three-wave theory of the crypto world was born. I decided to go all in on EOS.
Encouraged by me, my ex-boyfriend borrowed 300,000 yuan to invest in the crypto world. From then on, there was a pair of ill-fated lovers in the crypto world.
After losing money, our relationship broke down, and we eventually broke up.
4. Regaining the Right to KFC#
When I was over 300,000 yuan in debt, I went to Shanghai to seek fortune.
I carried dirty foot bath water for a year.
That year was when I learned the most. Every day, I took the subway to listen to Teacher Ni Haixia's traditional Chinese medicine courses.
The commute took over four hours: a ten-minute walk to the light rail, then taking Line 9, transferring to Line 3, and then Line 1, followed by another ten-minute walk to the company.
It was tough; I watched Ni Haixia's courses like "Human Chronicle" and "Heaven Chronicle" on the way. After using headphones for a long time, I developed acne in my ears.
For lunch, I either ate convenience meals from Family Mart or mooched off my colleagues.
Once, the manager deliberately ate a big meal next to me, and I swallowed hard.
While I was at the store, the company was thriving, and the boss rewarded us with exquisite takeout. He was from Shanghai and was very particular.
When an extra cake was available, the boss asked what to do with it. He and another founder exchanged knowing smiles and said to give it to someone; she would definitely want it.
Guess what?
I took it, but not because I wanted to eat it; I accepted it with a sense of righteousness because I was practicing Buddhism and didn't want to waste food. 😊
But it was also bittersweet.
Debt Prevented a Wedding#
Later, I secretly got married, afraid to tell my boss for fear of being fired. At that time, a salary of 6,000 yuan plus five insurances and one fund was a good job in my eyes. I had to use this money to juggle debts, and I didn't even use the five days of marriage leave.
With over 300,000 yuan in debt, I naturally didn't have a wedding. Writing this, I shed tears; it was so hard back then, I was so poor that I couldn't even afford wedding money.
Half a year after the wedding, I became pregnant. While examining patients' tongues, I felt nauseous. I didn't know I was pregnant, and while serving clients, my hands trembled. The manager said I was being dramatic.
At a critical moment, a colleague who was pregnant went home. I felt dizzy every day on the subway and almost fainted, so I had to confess to my boss that I was pregnant. The boss felt deceived.
When I returned to Nanjing, the attendant pushed me out in a wheelchair; the morning sickness was too severe.
When I learned I was pregnant, I cried: over 300,000 yuan in debt, how could I raise a child?
But it was this child that brought me good fortune in the crypto world.
My moment of reversal had arrived.
5. The Rabbit's Comeback#
After becoming pregnant, I couldn't go to work.
I returned to the crypto world, which had undergone a transformation: Yunbi disappeared, and Binance, Huobi, and OKEx rose.
My poor EOS could still be invested in Didi, but holding EOS had exhausted all my bad luck, and from then on, my life was filled with good fortune.
Binance's Bull Market#
From the explosion of Ethereum DeFi to the wave of Tron, then to Huobi Chain, and finally to Binance Chain.
I missed the previous rounds, but by the time I played with meme coins on Binance Chain, I had experience.
In this round, I completely paid off my debts and accumulated assets above A7.
My past debts made me cautious, and with capital, I didn't dare to play recklessly.
From then on, I had the right to eat KFC whenever I wanted.
But after turning 30, my figure changed, and I started dieting, so I could only watch my baby eat, swallowing hard. 😂😂😂
